What is Fiber Optics?

Single-mode fibers have small cores of 9 microns in diameter and transmit infrared laser light with a wavelength of 1,300 – 1,550 nanometers while Multi-mode fibers have larger cores which have 62.5 microns in diameter and transmit infrared light with a wavelength of 850 -1,300 nm.
